This site is a site of special scientific interest and appropriate measures had to be taken at all stages of the project to safeguard the area’s protected species.

 

The works included:

  De-silting of ponds

  Vegetation management

  New planting

  Access Improvements

  Resurfacing and redesign of car park and approach road

  Resurfacing and upgrade of the path network

  New sustainably built visitor facilities

 

Further information:

The new design acts as a template for training disabled groups into accessing woodlands and special interest areas so they are able to interact with nature in a positive and educational way.
