Environmental Improvements

Every aspect of the work carried out by Blakedown is geared towards achieving a sustainable development, thus contributing to a lasting natural environment for future generations.

In partnership with clients and employees Blakedown recognises its responsibility to the environment and the contribution it can make to environmental improvements within the UK.

As a landscaping company we are continually looking at ways to recycle waste products and materials for future use in our industry, thereby reducing landfill dependency.

Within this policy Blakedown aims to:

• Reduce motor transport whilst encouraging suppliers and contractors to do likewise.
• Minimise the use of natural resources by using environmentally friendly suppliers/products wherever possible.
• Minimise emissions of CO2 and save energy where possible on all our premises.
• Reduce pollution to air, sea and land and also to limit the amount of noise pollution on our sites.

Blakedown is keen to work on projects that will maintain or improve the environment for future generations and our efforts in this area have been recognised with a BALI award winning scheme in the development of a wildfowl wetland area. We are also involved in improving industrial and inner city areas, contributing to the restoration of the natural environmental balance.
