Following a successful tender process by Lambeth Council Blakedown Landscapes (SE) were appointed as landscape contractors for the first phase of the major re-development project at Brockwell Park Gardens in South East London.
Formerly a redundant paddling pool Blakedown transformed the space into a new wet play area featuring a paddling pool, rock pools, a stream and a sand pit which provide a fantastic new place for children and their families to play in one of south London’s best loved parks. Other works included the construction of a boardwalk, feature rock cascade, tree planting, turfing and bespoke timber planters.
Having recently opened to the public Sue Bowers, Head of the Heritage Lottery Fund in London, said:
“It’s great news that this new and exciting part of the wider Brockwell Park redevelopment project has now been completed. It will be a great asset to this much-loved park and I’m sure it will be well used by local children and encourage them and their families to come in and enjoy everything this precious green space has to offer.”
The project was part funded by Heritage Lottery fund and is part of a larger redevelopment of the park.
