William Brookes is the first secondary school in Shropshire to be completely rebuilt. As part of the £23m build, Blakedown Sport & Play has been contracted to construct the outdoor, all-weather and natural sports facilities, which need to be tough enough to withstand use by over 1,000 pupils.

Phase One was the athletics facilities, consisting of a new, sand-filled ATP with fencing and a 200m, six-lane porous polymeric track with eight-lane 100m straight. High jump, long jump and triple jump areas were also created.

Phase Two, due to commence in October, 2010, is a MUGA (Multi-Use Games Area) and Phase Three, to start in February, 2011, will be a natural rugby pitch.
