
William Brookes School, Shropshire Pitch and track facilities
Blakedown Sport & Play have completed the sub-contract works in 3 phases of the William Brookes School development.
Phase 1 of the project involved the construction of a 101.5m x 63m sand-filled pitch using an Edel LSR 24mm carpet, with fencing and a new 200m polymeric 6 lane running track with an 8 lane sprint straight.
Phase 2 works saw the construction of a 75m x 35m macadam MUGA which was centrally divided by fencing to allow for 2 courts, both were lined for tennis & netball & one for basketball, this allows for maximum usage of the courts during lessons. Works started in November 2010 & were completed in February 2011.
A new natural rugby pitch was started in April 2011 will be ready for use in approximately September 2012 and completes the work for Phase 3

English Institute of Sport, Manchester Athletics track
Construction of a 400m Athletic Track and pitch for Field Events, to the IAAF International Standard for 2002, on a brownfield site. This facility was used as a training track for the 2002 Commonwealth Games and 2004 GB selection trials for the Athens Olympics.

Fairfield High School, Bristol Sports pitch
Fairfield High School asked Blakedown to construct new sports facilities at its Boiling Wells site.
This comprised installing a 10,500m2 artificial sports pitch with a 15mm in-situ shockpad and Edel PP 24mm sand-filled carpet.
The new sports facility included a full-size pitch, lined for hockey and football use, a 100m 8-lane athletics sprint straight, three five-a-side football pitches and three bay cricket wicket nets.

Stanney High School, Cheshire Running track
Cheshire County Council funded the construction of a full-size running track at Stanney High School. The six-lane running track with an eight-lane sprint straight scheme also boasts two 9m by 6m sand pits, complete with two runways for the long jump and a separate pole vault area.
The reconstruction of the natural field in the middle of the track was also included in the project and is to be used for soccer and rugby, as well as athletic field events, for which a complete IAAF cage has been installed for hammer and discus.
The scheme is fully fenced for security and is completed with a full floodlighting system.
