Blakedown Sport and Play completed three prestigious RFU contracts for different Rugby Football Clubs from around the country. All three have had tailored specifications specifically designed to meet the latest requirements of the IRB and the RFU.

Penryn College

Blakedown Sport and Play was sub-contracted to install the college.s new full size rugby/football pitch. This ?420,000 project involved the 120m x 75m 3rd Generation carpet to be laid on top of a 24mm specialist shockpad. 5m weldmesh fencing with 1.2m high ranch-boards and 200 lux floodlights were also installed, with self-weighted 7-a-side goals and folding rugby posts provided. The pitch was completed with line markings for rugby, football and futsal.

St Benedicts RUFC

This 12 week project involved the construction of a 61m x 42.5m 3rd Generation pitch for rugby and football use at St Benedicts RUFC, costing around ?270,000. The carpet was installed on top of a specialist shockpad which was laid to meet the specific requirements of rugby. The carpet was marked with 5-a-side and various rugby lines, and was finished off with fencing and floodlighting, as well as a newly resurfaced car park.

South Molton Community College

The construction of the 60 x 50m 3rd Generation sports pitch, complete with drainage works and 5-a-side line markings, took 14 weeks to install costing around ?300,000. It had a 24mm specialist rubber shockpad laid underneath the synthetic carpet. The pitch was enclosed with 3m weldmesh fencing including 1.25m rebound panels, and appropriate floodlighting. The project was completed with associated landscape and pathway works.
