Blakedown Sport & Play are proud to announce their winning of the Horticulture Week Landscape and Amenity Award for Best Play Scheme for the Crawley Skatepark project. This award system was set up two years ago to acknowledge exceptional projects that have been completed over the last 18 months. The award ceremony took place on the 2nd October, with Blakedown being presented with the award at the The Royal Garden Hotel , London.

Blakedown Sport & Play are very pleased to have been recognised for this project as they worked hard to create a suitable and safe area to meet the needs of the young people within the community. Communication was key to this project with user groups including BMX riders, skate boarders and inline skaters, being actively involved with the continuous development of the project, so the resulting park would be something they could really enjoy. The finished skatepark has had great feedback from the community, and is extremely well used both locally and regionally. One skater commented,.The ride in the park is smooth and quick, there are plenty of lines in both the bowl and the street area. All in all it is a great park and I recommend a visit..

Winning this award demonstrates Blakedown Sport & Play.s ability to work closely with the community to provide innovative and unique sport and play areas.

This is the second Horticulture Week Landscape and Amenity Award won by the Blakedown Holdings group; Blakedown Landscapes (SE) won the award for Best Grassroots Sports Facility Project last year for the scheme at White Grounds,London.
