Fairchild's Garden Reaches Completion

Fairchild's Garden in Hackney has reached completion and we have been proud to have collaborated with the London Borough of Hackney, Ares Landscape Architects and Pick Everard to create this new pocket park in Shoreditch.

Named after the notable horticulturalist, Thomas Fairchild, this green space will provide a safe, welcoming and flexible space that meets the needs of the local community.

Works have included installation of a kiosk, widening of the main entrance, creation of a central open area, pedestrian paving and fences/railings, reinforced concrete retaining walls, bespoke solid granite steps, secondary footpaths which provide multiple routes through the space, installation of street furniture providing occasional seating opportunities, installation of raised steel planters, soft landscaping works and auxiliary works.

The design is sympathetic to the historic significance of the site, but portrays the present character of Shoreditch as a vibrant, creative and social area and provides a distinctive high quality public space
