Blakedown Landscapes Selected for Horniman Museum Pathway Project

Blakedown Landscapes is delighted to have been selected as contractor for the Horniman Museum and Gardens’ Pathway Project.

With a programme of just nine weeks, the project will encompass the resurfacing and reconstruction of tarmac paths and roadways, the renewal of block and stone pavings, adaptation and renewal of edgings, surface water drainage repairs and adaptation and the provision of new bollards.

Due to the live nature of the site and planned museum events taking place during the contract period, the works have been planned sectionally, together with some out of hours programming, to ensure minimal disruption.. Communication and safety is paramount and stringent measures have been implemented to ensure public protection at all times.

Blakedown was last at the museum in 2012 carrying out the historic gardens redevelopment project which extended the opportunities for interpretation and learning and created new outdoor spaces where this could happen.
