Blakedown Landscapes Selected as Principal Contractor for £2.5 million Landscape Improvement Works at Barnard Park

Blakedown Landscapes has been selected by Islington Council to carry out improvement works at Barnard Park in phase two of the million pound project.

The plans include improvements to the park’s biodiversity through the development of richer habitats and wildlife diversity.

As well as a new level grass area for sport and leisure activities, and a new community hub.

Improvements will be made to the site’s pathways with direct routes throughout the area, with better accessibility and a new entrance to Sheen Grove being added.

Islington Council states the removal of nine existing trees in the park is a necessary decision inorder to carry out the improvements and add new community facilities.

To mitigate this, new trees are set to be planted during the future construction phase, with opportunities for the local community to get involved.

Blakedown Landscapes will begin improvement works in early March this year
