Blakedown Supports Young Gardeners at St. Paul's Primary School
As part of our wider commitment to delivering social value alongside our work in The Regent’s Park – where we are delivering the landscape construction for a new garden to commemorate the life of Queen Elizabeth II – Blakedown Landscapes has proudly completed a community garden project at St. Paul’s Primary School in Primrose Hill.
The garden is the vision of St Paul’s headteacher, Clive Hale, who wants to encourage children to learn outdoors. Blakedown has transformed this underused area of the school grounds into a practical outdoor learning space.
The Blakedown team cleared and prepared the site, constructed several raised timber planters at varying heights for different age groups, installed timber edging to form a new shrub bed, and laid bark mulch throughout to create a safe, low-maintenance surface. The planters and beds were carefully designed to support inclusive use and hands-on learning for all pupils.
The space is now ready for the children to begin planting vegetables and flowers themselves, turning the area into a living classroom. In addition to enriching the curriculum, the garden will promote pupils’ wellbeing by providing a calming environment where they can connect with nature and explore through experience.
This project reflects our ongoing commitment to leaving a positive legacy in the communities we work in. We're proud to have delivered a space that will grow with its young users and continue to benefit the school for years to come.
