Brighton Beach Basketball Court Refurbishment Complete

Blakedown Landscapes has completed the refurbishment of the Brighton Beach basketball court, one of the most iconic seafront sports spaces in the UK.

Funded by Brighton & Hove City Council and the Hoopsfix Foundation, the project extended the court by 4 metres in length and 2 metres in width, resurfaced the entire playing area, and introduced upgraded drainage and slip resistance. Lighting columns were relocated, new seating was added, and existing walls repaired to improve both playability and the overall setting.

The upgraded facility now features top-of-the-line equipment, including new gooseneck posts, acrylic backboards, and spring-loaded rims with custom padding.

A standout feature is the bold court graphics by Half Decent Day, designed in collaboration with Hoopsfix to reflect the coastal setting and celebrate the growing profile of basketball in the UK.

The refurbished court reopened this month, providing a vibrant new hub for games, coaching sessions and daily play along the seafront.
